Wow....what a concert! lol

Valorie Noble and I went to the Johnny Rivers concert at Riverwind last night. He started out playing hard rock crap and I about died. I was ready to leave and then he started playing his good old stuff that I remembered. We got home about 1:15 AM, I'm getting to old for this but we made it. Today Kristin and I are going to Enid to sell Saints. There is a place to sit and lots of people come and buy dogs. I have luck selling my Poms there but we haven't tried the Saints yet. I'm thinking she has 9 of those things to get rid of. She'd probably make any of you a really good deal on one today. Call 1-800-Bernard for more info. lol

Big week in Kingwood. Riley was neutered yesterday, and Monday I'm getting a brand new toilet!

I've been trying to get a lot of flowers planted before the swarms of mosquitos take over. I bought some wave petunas, vining verbena and yellow snapdragons for a patio pot I put together yesterday.

Riley was supposed to be "groggy" when he got home from his procedure, but he was bouncing off the walls as usual. (You knew it was only a matter of time before I posted a dog picture... They're not as exotic as Kristin's pets, but they ARE housebroken...sorta...)

Hi Everyone!

Thought I'd let everyone know that my friend Valorie Noble and I are flying to LA to watch the ELLEN SHOW live. (no, we aren't lesbians) The show tapes April 10th and not sure if it will air the next day or not. Anyway, we are looking forward to this trip. Like Kristin said we are ALL excited about the new carpet in the chicken house. I had just told Lyndon that it looked like a redneck cafe with the duck tape holding the carpet together. I think we should paint that front door too, that red/black makes it look like a redneck bar from the outside. lol Ronnie took a job in Louisiana doing permits for a siezmic co. Cooper heard me tell someone that Ronnie was homesick so he told his mom that Papa was coming home because he was sick. Well, um....not sure what to say now. I wasn't even sure what a blog was, guess Vicki is going to make me learn. Sometimes I think my brain is maxed out and then here we go with something new. Besides catching that damn mouse that I've been hearing really nothing else is new. Over and out.

Grandma & Elvis

Did you all know Grandma was a close friend to Elvis???

I hired a local "Elvis" to come to the chicken house and sing to Grandma on Valentines day. Elvis performed a combination of songs including: Teddy Bear (he presented Grandma with a teddy bear during that one), Love me Tender (put a red scarf on her) & a few others that I can't remember! Grandma had a smile plastered on her face the whole time, she was very surprised! I had told people all week about this so the chicken house was pretty packed when he came in at noon.

Champion Cake Decorators

Jacksons' boy scout pack was having its annual pinewood derby, new this year was a cake decorating contest for the scouts and their dads. Jacksons dad was busy putting the roof trusses on our addition, so Jackson picked Grandad to be his partner. Jackson wanted a race track cake.... I printed a picture offline of a cake with a racetrack. I took the picture, Jackson and lots of icing and candy over to Grandads and turned them loose in the kitchen! Grandad trimmed the cake up to be oval shaped......he didn't just get a knife and start cutting, he actually cut himself a pattern and laid it on the cake and then cut! They worked and worked, eating bites of extra cake as often as they could (mostly Jackson)!! They were not quite finished when Grandad disappeared, I found him in his recliner sound asleep and Jackson has slipped into the back bedroom to watch tv!! Typical guys, they left the clean-up for me and Grandma!!
Needless to say, their cake won the contest!! The picture below was in the Mooreland Leader. FYI, Jacksons' derby car took first place as well, going undeafeated for nine races!!

so how are things in houston? i have got to be gone tomorrow and the next day with the boss for his annual run of "town hall meetings". it is the republican way of staying in touch with the real hard working American people. i noticed that hillary had serious recollection problems with her trip to bosnia or wherever...she is done. her own worst enemy... anyway, gina has been busy with the motel, march has started off pretty good thankfully. gina took the last two weeks off to clean rooms over there and stuff. she may kill me yet!!!

I'm playing around with posting pictures... This is my home in Kingwood. My home sits a little cock-eyed because it's on a cul-de-sac. It's much nicer (and cheaper) than my dumpy little Colorado home.

It's been very nice here lately - weather wise. But after 2 months of no mosquitos, I noticed that they had returned a few days ago. My neighborhood has drainage issues, so the mosquitos are horrible. It's so wet that I even have crawfish living in my backyard. I'm not kidding. There are little mounds of mud that they live under.

New Williams Blog

Inspired by my friends, Terri and Barry, I've started a family blog. I'm not sure how much participation to expect, but let's give it a try.

I named it AlandJane, because that was available, and descriptive. The intent is to have a place to stay in touch in between those few times a year when we all get together.
